Journey to the east.

After the hugs and the goodbyes, rushing to the bus stop with all my baggage, i finally got to Gisborne where i met these two jokers. We stayed a night in Gisborne in an old convent school that's now turned into a backpackers and it was creepy as hell. They didn't have rooms but only camping grounds available and since it was already spring and warm as hell, we stayed in a tent for the night.

The next day, we drove a good 2 hours in the afternoon towards the east cape. I really wanted to see it. I wanted to experience being the FIRST PERSON IN THE WORLD to see the sunrise so i can have bragging rights later in the future. We headed down to the most eastern point of New Zealand and climbed to the top of the mountain and finally made it to the light house. For all those who smoke, this isn't a pretty walk for you.

Like all lighthouses, this one looked.... well exactly like all the other lighthouses in New Zealand. Pretty, big and white.

The view was also beautiful. I assure you, you wont be disappointed by your climb but then again i'm a sucker to high areas and breathtaking scenic view where everything below me looks tiny.

I followed a man who climbed a little outside the barrier to where some old tracks were and headed down to a clear opening. He said that the view there of the beach below was more clearer and prettier. I'm not sure how much more beautiful it could have gotten but just standing at the edge where the drop was dangerously high, i was stunned. I could have stayed up there forever but of cause, one has got to eat, shit and what not so i turned around and we headed back towards the car.
