We hitch hiked all the way to New Plymouth and took a very long way around and by the time we got there it was just after 5pm and all the shops were already closed. It was a rather tiring journey and we should have picked our rides wisely but when you stand there long enough any car that stops and says
- well yar, i'm driving just to the next town -
you assume it's the best option and take it.
We practically went a big circle you could say but it was worth it. New Plymouth is beautiful! we paid a little too much for a ride to the mountains but i don't care! We climbed up Mt Teranaki and made it almost to the top but couldn't really because there was too much snow still and we didn't have the right shoes. Still, the view was awesome and the mountain is just breathtaking. you feel so small at the bottom when you look up but when you're on it.. you just have a different prospective.
Makes you think that no problem is too hard if you start taking the small steps to climb up to the top and besides, getting lost really is just a longer way to get there but you do get there...eventually. :)
