This time, we bought bus tickets to Wellington since our legs were getting a little sore from all the walking and we didn't want to waste any time. It wasn't a very long ride just about 3-4hours and we got into Wellington, checked in and went for beers.

The next day we climbed Mt Victoria because we were told it's got the best view BUT what we didn't know was -
1. it's not a leisure hill. there's no green grass to picnic on. it really is a MOUNTAIN.
and well,
2. WE COULD HAVE DRIVEN UP TO THE TOP.
We were starting to see old people walking down the mountain like it was just an afternoon stroll and we were panting and heaving up the steep slope. When we saw a toddler and his mom coming down the hill we couldn't help but freak out just a little thinking - how the hell did this baby climb the mountain??
it was about 5mins after we saw that baby and his mom strolling that we came upon a clearing and some gravel road and then we saw the carpark and families piling out of their campervans and the asians with their big SLR cameras and children running around.
so while we stood at the top of Mt Victoria, dripping with sweat and breathing heavily, holding our sweaters in our hands as we take in the splendid view of Wellington, almost everyone else around us were standing in thick coats huddling together with their makeup untouched.
