The last day in Perth felt like a lazy day. Eleta got off work early and so she and her husband drove me to the beach. We had drinks by the sparkling water and then after we dropped Andrew off, us girls took a spin into town and went shopping.
i can assure you i didn't expect to be spending any money but as i walked pass this amazingly large toblerone i couldn't resist. i whipped out all the money i had left and paid for my $12AUD large toblerone (.. and some other chocolates i figured i needed to give to my friends back home) The toblerone didn't fail to excite the children that walked pass me and even adults were smiling and staring. It was a good conversation starter as well considering while i was waiting outside the changing rooms for Eleta who was trying on a dress, 3 sales person and some guy also waiting for probably his girlfriend enquired about this large chocolate bar i was carrying around.
i swear you should have see the faces of the air stewards and immigrations officers as i boarded my plane.
Needless to say, i was promptly ignored when i arrived in Singapore.
If you don't already know this, Singaporeans walk with their eyes to the floor and quickly because walking is only done to get you from A to B.
In Singapore, socialising and smiling at strangers is overrated. Sad world isn't it? Prove me wrong dear Singapore. Maybe Singaporeans just need something worth smiling for.
