Nelson

We arrive at Nelson and the first thing that catches my eyes are the branch warmers around the trees. I mean BRANCH WARMERS. seriously.. brings a new perspective to "hug a tree" and "love your environment" campaigns.

Our host for Nelson was Peter. He lives just about 20mins from Nelson actually in a little town called Mapua. He had an amazing home and the most comfortable bed. Perhaps all this while sleeping on shit mattresses at the different hostels, a proper bed just made a huge impression.

We booked a half cruise, half trek sort of thing and did the 4hour trek on Abel Tasman. The beaches were awesome.. the walk?

.. not so much.

I cant lie i'm no supertramp. I walk along the bush walks cursing and swearing under my breath wondering why i'm putting myself in this pure torture of up and down hills.

For some reason, people seem to be sadistically happy to put themselves through torture just because some guy said "ah this bush walk is marvelous and we, men must walk through the dirt and appreciate nature for all it's glory"

that said, i did enjoy the day because i got to see the seals..!! but that folks is another story.
