The waterfalls were great. it was a good get-away. i'll admit i didn't quite look forward to the trip as much as i did for Redang but it turned out to be just as fun. perhaps the lack of expectation and the fact that everyone pretty much took care of everything while i just came along for the ride and took instructions made the trip enjoyable.
it must have been like 10 years since the last time i was up a waterfall but i still remember it clearly and now after 10 years the waterfalls still look just as beautiful. the freezing waters didn't take a break and while it rain through the night it didn't dampen our mood in the shaking tents. lol. (nor did the spas kick in the middle of the night or the soft snores of my tent-mates...wahhah)
the journey up was smooth. we got through customs really quick despite everyone saying that there's bound to be a jam and the traffic was gonna be a killer.. however, perhaps it was to just spite our good fortune or that once again murphy's law proves itself, our bus brakes down near yong peng and we were left stranded for more that 6hours waiting with no explainations. finally after quick snooze on a bus with no aircondition let alone normal breathing air, another bus arrives and we make the transfer only to realise there isn't room for all 6 of us up in that bus. yes. apparently they forgot to count the passengers? i'm not sure... so after some debate with my and my broken malay to a bus driver who claims he's not the boss and can't do anything, we squeeze around and make our 5hour journey with little complains.
really i have none since i ended up sitting in front with some young boy who was exhausted and kept falling asleep on me, while the rest mashed together like sardines somewhere behind.
i guess it was the adventure that made the trip a story worth re-telling.
the journey back was little entertaining. we boarded the 1am bus and by 5am we were at larkin. slightly frozen, numb, with a full bladder and by 7am i was in my bathroom showering.

cool!So Jason and I were just talking about next June. We are thinking of doing a SG-Malacca-KL-Phuket trip. We're think 2 days in Malacca with the family, then we move on to KL for 2 days and then fly to Phuket, stay at Patong beach for 2 days and another beach for 2 days before flying back to sg. You want to join us? Would be fun with more ppl. Also do u know any good hotels/resort in phuket?
i've not been to Phuket lar.. probably have to do some research. i heard mummy talking about it. sounds very exciting. if we're not looking at a family thing i can drag some friends along for Phuket.
ya only Malacca with the whole family thing, then we can go on our own. Ya bring more friends, would be fun!
