there's a boy i teach that decided he wanted to have "traveling lessons" despite the fact that mobility training as the management put it, doesn't start till the end of January or beginning of February.
he runs out of class with his bag and walks out of the school like it's his own house. He hails a cab and tells the driver to take him to xxxx. The driver for some reason, takes my student there where thankfully he is located by a smarter citizen who then calls the school and inform us about his whereabouts.
Of cause by this time, i've been frantically searching the school for him for about 20minutes and to my relief he is found...although not quite where i expected him to be.
while this event is done and over, i still feel guilty to the parents and not quite ready to joke about it although laughing is about the only thing left for me to do.
it is quite hilarious after you get over the fact that ANYTHING could have happen in those 20mins and how VERY VERY scary this entire event was for both me, my partner and the students parents.
It's funny just because noone saw him run out of school. (the security cameras saw him unlocked the school gate himself and even turns back to re-lock it)secondly the fact that he was well taught in the social skills department so much so that he is fully capable of taking a taxi himself is amusing itself and of cause the joke of the day would probably be that the driver thought he was doing a good deed sending a young boy somewhere expecting no money exchange.
Our hands, eyes, ears and mouth have taken much precaution to ensuring this event NEVER takes place again.
It's just one of those things that happens anyway...

was the taxi driver special ed too? seriously...what was he thinking!
Although I guess this kid has no need for mobility training. haha.
the irony is: he could do all that because you did such a good job teaching him! hehehe...
i suppose his teacher last year did, not me! hahahah
