hello, hello.. are you ok?

As of after today, I'm quite sure that if you were to drop unconscious, i could probably perform CPR on you. I've got the steps to the procedure running through my head still fresh since i just did my first aid practical this late afternoon. Just give me about a month and i might not be as confident as today.

If you went through a first aid course, you'd probably have had your instructor tell you that the first thing after checking for danger around a collapsed casualty is to tap his shoulder and say

hello hello .. are you ok?

i was just wondering if this is true, universally or only in Singapore since i just can't imagine a foreigner in their all funny accent going

hEllo hello... are you ok?
(think Ah beng slang)

I learned here that after you assess for danger you approach the victim and say "hello, are you alright?" so i guess its similar.
